In addition, you will:  

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan with the Financial Services Partnerships team to drive revenue growth, member acquisition, and retention. 
  • Identify, pursue, and secure high-value partnership opportunities across the financial services sector—including banking, fintech, and insurance—with a focus on innovation and strategic alignment. 
  • Lead end-to-end deal execution, from opportunity identification and value proposition development to negotiation and contract closure, ensuring strong commercial outcomes. 
  • Build and maintain a robust new business pipeline, leveraging data-driven insights to prioritise opportunities and demonstrate the value of Velocity to potential partners. 
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in financial services and loyalty to proactively identify opportunities that keep Velocity at the forefront of innovation. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across Marketing, Finance, Data & Analytics, and Operations to ensure successful onboarding and long-term success of new partnerships. 

 

You’ll be great in this role if you: 

  • 8-10 years (+) commercial experience across Financial Services, sales / key account management, with a strong network. 
  • Demonstrated success leading and closing high-value, complex commercial deals, from strategy through to negotiation and execution. 
  • Experience and deep understanding of the financial services sector, including banking, cards or payments. 
  • A strong track record of identifying, negotiating, and closing high-value, multi-million-dollar commercial partnerships. 
  • Highly numerate and proficient at building business cases to uncover new opportunities and ways to structure commercial deals 
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and presentation skills, with confidence engaging and influencing C-suite stakeholders. 
  • Experience in loyalty or consumer-facing industries is highly regarded, particularly within acquisition and engagement marketing. 
  • Forward-thinking and across market trends, emerging technologies, and evolving customer needs within financial services and loyalty.
